In My Humble Opinion

So, as I struggle to adjust to this new WordPress editor I just want to try to say again that In MY humble opinion if someone wishes to exercise their right to have an opinion and to express it in public they have the responsibility to make sure that their opinion is based on rational, logical thinking and that it is not just emotionally charged irrational ranting. Unless of course they start their post with ‘In my humble oponion.

If you want to see examples of such futile thinking and Argument then search WordPress or Twitter or whatever for ‘Atheist’ and you will find instances galore of assinine comments (actually if you read Bertrand Russell’s ‘Why I am Not a Christian’ you will find that even he has problems tackling the subject so these lesser mortals have only two chances of hetting it right…no chance and a dog’s chance!

It is not someone’s opinion to be an atheist that offends me it is the ludicrous, specious and irratonal mode of Arguing or supporting their decison that I find offensive as it demeans their humanity and insults  my intelligence.

Think About it

  1. If people want to be atheist then that is their choice and I say “Bully for them” but what I cannot abide and will not tolerate is people choosing to be stupid and irrational and to then advertise the fact by publishing some asinine tosh on whatever media takes their fancy. People owe it to themselves not to display their petty mindedness to others.
If someone, theist or atherist, makes some statement that is crass and shallow andthen tries to demonstrate that it is the product of some system of rational thinking when it patently is not then I will stand up and say ‘enough is enough’
If you want to see examples of people writing BS and hogwash then look at the stuff written by Ken Ham the Creationist, Richard Dawkins and Ken Thackary. All of their stuff has been refuted and shown to be crap even before it was written yet they persist in pouring out their ridiculous opinions ad nauseam.
Atheists who have ‘tried to find a reason for believing n God’ have looked in the wrong places, listened to the wrong people and so have ‘thrown their toys out of the pram’ and started throwing tantrums.
I have offered before in the blog and elsewhere to discuss with any atheist who wishes to the meaning and value of Psalm 40 with them but have had no takers.
As I said before, it is not atheism I find offensive but stupidity…

  2. In my humble opinion –
It seems to me that atheists’ blogs etc. have allowed you/me the opportunity for a Theist/Atheist debate with frustrated, hurt souls that Religious Fervour/Dogma souls/Vocational minds don’t want to indulge in. Don’t think atheists haven’t tried to find a reason to believe in GOD before frustration slowly turns to bitterness that could eventually fester and turn into malevolence.
Preachers are supposed to be Shepherds and citizens their sheep (I mean flock), aren’t they? I think they must feel they are letting GOD down.
I know you don’t think like that, and neither do I.
Most people just get on with their civil lives, thank GOD for our Modern Civil Rights and Humanity Laws, says order & Justice COSMIC ZEUS.
